I have a BA in Liberal Arts from Hampshire College. I majored in Music with coursework in Jazz from UMass, Musicology and Composition from Amherst College, Theory from Mt Holyoke, violin and performance from Smith College.

I am a classically trained musician with certificates in violin, performance and chamber music coaching from the New England Conservatory of Music, the Conservatory at Rivers and Apple Hill Center for Chamber Music. I offer private lessons on mandolin and fiddle and group classes in Bluegrass, Celtic, Klezmer and Classical music genres.

I am a co-founder and fiddler with Celticado, a traditional Celtic duo with Jim Bunting of Enfield, CT. Learn more about Celticado here. I play mandolin with Swift River, a newgrass band that plays mostly originals with Claiborne Woodall, Bruce Fischer and John Rough. I'm a co-founder and President of Mandolin New England, Inc., a 501c3 nonprofit mandolin orchestra in western MA and Providence, RI. I play mandocello with the Granby Mandolin Quartet. We are currently studying Mozart's "Spring" Quartet, one of the "Haydn" quartets. In 1995, I formed Fiddle Hill with Brian Bender of Shutesbury, MA. Together, we played for contradances all over western MA and in 1999, played on stage in a world music festival in front of the Great Pyramids in Egypt.

My first teaching job out of College was at the Fretted Instrument Workshop in Amherst, MA. From there, I taught mandolin and fiddle at Downtown Sounds in Northampton, NCMC, KIMRA in Keene, NH, KCMC and finally my own studio in 2009. Since then, I've been teaching out of my home and online.

I teach at Sweet Music Studio online. Visit the website to learn more about that: www.SweetMusicStudio.net
